I have been selected to attend the 2012 Republican National Convention Symposium with the Junior Statesmen Association. It is an honor to be selected for this out of many high school students around the nation and I am especially excited to attend, since I aspire to be a political journalist. I am writing this to ask for your financial support to help me attend.
At the Election Symposia I will be meeting and questioning members of Congress, campaign leaders, convention delegates, journalists and political activists during a bipartisan Speakers Program. I will also be able to visit press centers and campaign headquarters while learning the basics of a successful campaign and political communication. It is atremendousopportunity, especially for someone like me with a passion for politics and journalism.
The total amount I need in order to attend the Symposium is $2,500. This includes room and board and tuition. Due to employment and economical circumstances, my family cannot afford to pay the entire amount. That is why I am asking you for assistance. A donation of any amount will make a huge difference.

Additional Information about Myself:
I am a student at a local Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology and participate in many extra-curricular activities such as being a member of the Clover Hill Baptist Church youth group for four years, volunteering at Vacation Bible School and with Elementary ESL Students every summer for the past three years, as well as several theatre activities including working with Richmond Shakespeare and backstage for school productions. I am part of the Interact Club, German Club, Drama Club, International Thespian Society, and National Honor’s Society and I am the Class of 2014 Historian.
